BALLERINA ROOM

The interior design of a house must always have the needs of its residents, in combination with aesthetics, as a cornerstone. Functionality-Need-Aesthetics then, three basic parameters.

In this 4-Bedroom apartment, I decided to create a small training and relaxation area for the two little ballerinas of the house. Since all rooms of the house were vital, we couldn’t just dedicate one room as a ballerina room, but on the other hand it wasn’t possible not to create such a space for the ballerinas. So, the solution was found as follows:

With minimal purchases, this wonderful space was created and was substantially transformed from a corridor / hall into a fairy-tale space. The door leading to the home-office was removed and thus, we took full advantage of all the square meters of that space. A large poster from the "Swan Lake" Ballet at the Zurich Opera House, available from the Museum für Gestaltung, was magically hung on the door. A wooden ballet bar was placed on the wall with pink (of course) hangers, to keep our ballerinas happy, available by Fitness Spiegel and an extra large gold, baroque-style mirror from Maisons du Monde. The most fundamental touch in this space was, of course, Carmen suspension lamp in a pink shade, designed by PaulinePlusLuis for Hartô and of course available in my Boutique, Inspiration Tales. Carmen is this unique and inspiring luminaire that floats lightly and airily like the Tutu of a ballerina who dances harmoniously on the magic stage of the opera.

And finally, the special small lamp from Malumineuse, which creates an atmospheric environment, in combination with the two comfortable and light poufs by Nobodinoz, offering moments of endless relaxation and creative reading to the whole family.
